From May 1 to 3, 2026, Lençóis Maranhenses welcomes the Soma Festival: a three-day immersion that brings together sports, wellness, and music in one of Brazil’s most extraordinary settings. An event that doesn’t just take place in Atins, but could only happen here.
Where the Preguiças River meets the Atlantic Ocean, where the dunes of this World Natural Heritage site cradle freshwater lagoons within curves of white sand, the Soma Festival is born as a celebration of what is most alive in this territory: movement, contemplation, and connection.
The Soma Festival program was designed for those who understand that living well requires being present in every moment. During the day, the body is tested on the dunes and in the river. At night, music takes over the landscape.
On May 1st, the festival opens with the official dune running race, featuring distances of 6 and 12 kilometers, and the swim run along the Preguiças River, one of the most unique events on the Brazilian sporting calendar. Throughout the three days, health and wellness experiences and inspiring talks make up a daytime program designed for those seeking more than just adrenaline.
On the nights of May 2nd and 3rd, the festival transforms. Banda Eva, KVSH, Syon Trio, and Leo Foguete take the stage with open bar service while the Lençóis sky opens up over the crowd. These are concerts that wouldn’t be the same anywhere else in the world.
