Directly inspired by the landscape that surrounds it, ALMA was created with an unprecedented concept in Atins. There are only 8 chalets handcrafted with buriti wood, enveloped by landscaping filled with native plants and arranged around both private and shared pools. The small scale is not a limitation. It is a deliberate choice.

Each chalet was designed to offer real intimacy. With accommodations of up to two bedrooms, ALMA welcomes couples looking for silence and families who want to experience Atins deeply, without compromising on comfort. Here, the space breathes. And those who arrive do too.

Architecture that dialogues with the place

The rustic-chic style of ALMA is not a decor trend. It is an honest response to the surroundings. Buriti wood, a symbol tree of Maranhão present throughout the Atins landscape, appears in the structure of the chalets as a gesture of belonging. Landscaping with native species dissolves the boundaries between inside and outside, between the built environment and the wild.

Under a thatched roof and surrounded by buriti palms, the Alma Spa & Gym offers therapeutic massages, wellness rituals, and full bodybuilding workouts with equipment that dialogues with the local architecture. Exclusive to guests of ALMA and Atins Charme Chalés, the space was conceived with a simple and powerful premise.

Atins as a backdrop

ALMA is situated in Atins, a preserved village at the mouth of the Preguiças River, where the river meets the ocean and Lençóis Maranhenses reaches its wildest limit. Since July 2024, the region has been recognized as a Unesco World Natural Heritage site, a distinction that confirms what anyone who has been here always knew: this is one of the most extraordinary places in Brazil.

The crystal-clear lagoons, the 155,000-hectare dunes, the navigation along the Preguiças River, and the human scale of the village form the natural context of the experience. ALMA does not compete with this landscape. It amplifies it, offering the necessary retreat for the traveler to absorb it fully.
